Number 12 Princess Dock, Liverpool, UK
The regeneration of the docklands area has been central to the thinking of those concerned with the revitalisation of the northern coastal city of Liverpool, once the centre of European trade with the Americas. In some cases this has been achieved by the refurbishment of old Victorian buildings such as the Albert Dock but it has also included modern commercial developments, Number 12 Princess Dock being a fine example.
The development required some 20,000m2 of structural fire protection and a Firebreak product was selected as being the most efficient way of meeting this need. Low thicknesses coupled with ease of application of the waterborne coating allowed for swift completion of this striking building which now forms part of the developing face of the Liverpool waterfront.
